I loved telling people that I was a college junior at 18-years-old, I received the best expressions of shock and confusion, to which I replied, "I'm an overachiever."

Brynna Benjamin - 2021 Graduation

I was in my first and what ended up being my last semester of senior year. COVID-19 destroyed that experience, I was going to school twice a week, missing out on senior traditions and not learning the amount of information that I could have been. Frankly, I was bored.

In October, just after I turned 17, I decided that I was done and wanted to graduate early. I reached out to my school counselor who told me it was possible if I worked hard and started now, so I did.

By Christmas break, I earned all my credits necessary to graduate, I was out of there. In January I began taking classes at Estrella Mountain Community College, and did not stop until August. At that point I finished all of my general courses for my degree in communications, transferred my credits to Grand Canyon University and finished not only my freshman year but the first half of my sophomore year as well.

In August I moved to live on GCU campus and continued my track. Now I am a junior studying Communications with an emphasis in broadcasting and new media and will be complete with my college education by May of 2023 at 19-years-old.
